Observation Sexual Orientation

Demographic observation representing a patient's sexual orientation using the US Core Observation Sexual Orientation Profile.

Overview#

The Observation resource captures a patient’s sexual orientation. This is modeled using a fixed LOINC code (76690-7) and includes the observation status, the value (e.g., gay, straight, bisexual), the effective date, and the subject (Patient). The resource supports use cases for querying and documenting sexual orientation as part of a patient's health data.
